Kath Morrison (Trumpet/Flugelhorn) accompanied by Steve Smillie (Guitar)

Kathryn Morrison began her musical career on The Sydney Show Boat with a jazz trio and performed with the "Harbour City Jazz Band" at the Soup Plus.

Kathryn has completed a Bachelor Degree in Jazz Performance at the Sydney Conservation and Performed with the "Conservation Big Band" at the Shanghai World Expo Music Festical. She also performed with "Black Top Rollers" and "Sirens Big Band". Kathryn is currently teaching trumpet on the Northern Beaches at various public and private schools and perfoming at venues around Sydney and the Central Coast.

Steve Smillie has been a guitarist performing professionally from the early 70’s. Steve’s origins were in country music and has branched out into other styles including; blues, rock, jazz, funk, pop and reggae. Steve has supported many acts including; Ian Moss, Daryl Braithwaite, Renee Geyer, Tim Freedman (from the Whitlam’s) and Rick Price. Also in 2016 Steve performed in the Concert hall of the Sydney Opera House.

Steve was named best instrumentalist at Tamworth’s Country Music Festival awards 1978 and 1979 and was a National Top 10 finalist in the Rebel Yell Guitar Challenge 1991. Steve currently teaches guitar at the Central Coast Conservatorium and performs in the duo Open Fire.

Kath and Steve have been performing together for the past four years in clubs on the Central Coast and Sydney as well as at the Concert Series at the Central Coast Conservatorium.

Josh Poretti

Josh has a repertoire of jazz, blues and flamenco influenced by original and standard acoustic guitar instrumental’s as well as putting his own spin on classic standard’s with vocals. Heavily influenced by the likes of Eric Clapton Unplugged and Tommy Emmanuel but inspired by modern/classic rock to reggae, Josh commands his guitar with ease. He has performed for over 10 years in Australasia on the streets as a busker to venues such as Basement, 4 star Hotels and has performed in TV commercials.
