Manly’s nature walks

Everyone is now enjoying the great outdoors and Manly is surrounded by some of the best coastal walks in Sydney. Time your next stay in Manly when there is air is crisp but the sun is shining and enjoy one of our favourite walks


Manly to Shelley Beach
Grade of walk- easy
Approximately a 40 minute round trip from the hotel stroll only the Manly beachfront then along pathway that hugs the coastline. The Shelley beach walk takes in stunning beach views but be sure to keep an eye out for sculptures along the way and the sea life in Cabbage Bay.
Our tip- Make sure you take in the view from Shelley beach headland looking back towards Manly and grab a coffee from the Boathouse Café!

North Head Sanctuary
Grade of walk- easy
North Head Sanctuary is a spectacular place to walk. The quite serenity of the headland is perfect for contemplating the city views and busy harbour life. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the bush tracks and observe the native wildlife and during May-September you may be lucky to spot the annual whale migration.
This walk also forms part of the Sydney Coastal walk, it can be accessed via car or for the more adventurous it can be access via the Shelly beach walk.
Our tip- Whilst there make time to visit North head fort and take in the World War 2 tunnels via a tour

SPIT bridge to Manly
Grade of walk- Moderate to hard
The SPIT bridge to Manly walk is a ten kilometre coastal hike through the stunning Sydney Harbour National park and past some of Sydney’s most picturesque harbour beaches. Enjoy panoramic views of the majestic entrance to Sydney Harbour and finish at Manly’s wharf with a lunch or beverage!
Our tip- catch the bus from the hotel to SPIT bridge so you can finish in Manly

Manly Dam
Grade of walk- Moderate to hard
Known more to locals, Manly Dam is approximately a 10 minute drive from the hotel and offers a 7km circuit walk around picturesque Manly Dam. In the a bush setting make sure you take a moment to read the information boards along the way to learn about the local flora and fauna and Aboriginal heritage.

Our tip- Manly dam offers some great picnic spots, barbeques and playgrounds for children so pack a lunch with you!
