Looking for inspiration these school holidays? Look no further than a staycation in Manly. Novotel Manly Pacific is located a stone’s throw from popular Manly beach- always a family favourite but here is our list of other thing to do whilst in Manly to keep the kids entertained.

Take a hike
Manly is surrounded by national parks and coastal walkways, a perfect way for kids to explore marine life and natural surrounds. Our favourite for families is the popular Manly to Shelley beach walk. This walk, starting from the hotel hugs the coastline and offers spectacular views of Manly beach and the protected marine sanctuary of cabbage tree bay. If you are staying here May-November then we recommended the trails at North Head where the annual whale migration can be spotted

Explore the beaches of Manly
Did you know that Manly has more than 20 beaches, bays, coves and inlets to discover? Each provide their own unique experience and vista with open ocean beaches best for surfing, body surfing or simply enjoying the swell. Those on the harbour or in protected coves provide a gentler water experience perfect smaller children

Trying surfing or stand up paddle boarding
Manly is often referred to as the birthplace of surfing and for those active kids we highly recommend booking a surfing lesson at Manly Surf school. Manly Surf School operate its lesson’s daily directly in front of the hotel and suit all ages and abilities. Manly also had numerous businesses that rent stand up paddle boards and or surf-boards, please ask our friendly team when staying for recommendations

Hire a bike or skateboard
Manly’s is famous for its beach promenade’s and coastal pathways, all of which are of an easy level and safe for little children. Manly Bikes and Henrietta Skate offer a range of bikes and skates for hire to suit all ranges.

Grab an ice-cream
We know every kid loves an ice cream treat when on holiday and did you know that Manly is home to many ice-cream shops. From Ben and Jerry’s, Yoghurtland and Gelatissimo there is almost one on every street corner!

Catch the iconic Manly Ferry
Nothing beats taking to Sydney Harbour on-board the iconic Manly Ferry. Enjoy the leisurely 30min trip to Sydney’s CBD and enjoy the stunning views such our famous Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Whilst in the city stroll around the picturesque botanical gardens or explore Sydney’s newest foreshore playground- Barangaroo
