Frequently asked questions

 

1. How can I organise a time to look around the venue?

Our Wedding planner is available for pre-arranged, private appointments from Monday- Friday with some availability on Saturdays. To arrange a time please contact Belle at belle.brittain@accor.com or 02 8966 7171

2. I have a date in mind can I put the venue on hold?

Congratulations, you are ready to book! In order to hold a particular date we will need a signed contract along with a 20% deposit. If not ready to finalise we will of course notify you of any other enquiries that should fall on the date you are interested in.

3. Do you offer a menu tasting?

Yes we do, it is $39.00 per person for the bride and groom and $62.00 per person for any additional guests. Please note, a selection of 2 entrees and 2 mains will be served for the bride and groom and any additional guests will have the same menu as the bride and groom have selected.

4. When is final payment due?

We require full payment 7 days prior to your wedding. You will be provided with your final invoice 2 weeks prior to your wedding date.

5. When do we need to provide you with final guest numbers?

Your wedding planner will ask you to confirm your final guest numbers 14 days prior to the wedding.

6. We have guests that will need to stay on site, how can they book a room at Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific and do they receive any discount?

Once your deposit has been paid, your wedding planner will provide you with an accommodation booking code you can distribute to your guests in order to place bookings. Wedding guests are entitled to a 10% discount (off the best available rate on the day). Guests can book accommodation direct by email or phone with our Reservations team. 

7. Do you set our place cards &bonbonniere for us and when can we drop these items off at the hotel?

Yes, our staff are happy to set these for you at no additional charge. Please ensure place cards are bundled in table and seating order and bonbonniere is assembled and removed from any packaging. Our Wedding Coordinator will be happy to arrange a time for your to drop these items off the week prior to your wedding.

8. What options do we have with the package included chair covers & sashes?

If you have booked one of our standard packages, chair covers and sashes are included. You have a choice of black or white, satin, cotton or lycra chair covers. Sashes come in satin or organza material and come in a range of colours.

9. We have children attending our wedding, are they charged at different rates?

Yes, we provide a children’s menu and they are charged at $31.00 for 2-11 year olds.For teenagers aged 12-17 years, the non-alcoholic beverage package is charged at $26.00 per person.

10. Do you provide menus and seating plans?

Yes, we provide you with 1 x Novotel menu per table. These menus have a generic design, if you have a particular stationary theme you wish to continue you are welcome to organise your own menus. The hotel does not provide a seating plan however are happy to provide an easel for you to display your seating plan on.

11. What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

We are happy to provide a wet weather option for your ceremony, however this will be subject to availability and room hire fees will apply. 

12. Do you have a minimum spend?

The minimum spend for weddings starts from $8,000. This will vary depending on which event space is booked. If the minimum spend is not met then an additional room hire fee will apply.

13. Are we able to bring in our own decorations and set them up ourselves?

Yes, you are more than welcome to provide and set up your own decorations. The week prior to your wedding, your wedding planner will be able to confirm a bump in and bump out time for setup. Please note, all items must be collected at the conclusion of the event.

14. What happens with all our decorations etc after the wedding?

At the conclusion of the evening, all items will need to be collected. The week prior to your wedding your wedding planner will confirm when these items will need to be removed from the venue.

15. What centrepiece is included in the Novotel wedding packages?

Our packages include a complimentary fishbowl vase with white pillar candles as a standard centrepiece. You are able to provide your own centrepieces or organise these through a supplier.

16. Do you provide the service of an MC or DJ?

We have preferred suppliers which we can recommend for your wedding, however we do not arrange these as part of your package.

17. We have returned our signed contract and deposit. What is next?

It’s official and time for you to start the exciting planning stage! The next time you will hear from us is 3 months prior to your wedding when the Wedding Planner will send through your wedding details forms. These forms will include questions and information we will require for the setup of your ceremony and/or reception.

18. Are a microphone, PA system and music included in my ceremony package?

These items are not included in our standard package. Often your celebrant will provide this equipment, this is something to confirm with them at the time of booking. Alternatively we have an onsite AV team, Staging Connections, who will be happy to organise all your AV requirements at an additional cost.

19. What are the parking facilities for us and our guests?

We have limited paid on-site undercover car parking available. Parking for guests is subject to availability and charges start from $35.00. Manly offers over 2,000 car park spaces so there is plenty of options all within walking distance to the hotel. We do however include 3 complimentary spots on the wedding day as part of our wedding package.

20. Are we able to use the venue to rehearse our ceremony prior to the big day?

We are happy to assist where possible depending on availability and other factors. If you wish to lock in a rehearsal time, hire fees may be applicable.
